JPG is one of the most recognizable, popular, and comprehensible bitmap image formats. This format appeared as a result of the work of the group of photo experts “Joint Photographic Experts Group”. A PSD file can be converted to one of the common graphic formats, for example, JPG or PNG for viewing in any graphics program. To view the PSD file, you can use both Adobe Photoshop and other graphic editors, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, GIMP, ACDSee Photo Studio. The format supports various color modes: RGB, CMYK, grayscale, monochrome, indexed color, and others. The PSD format uses graphics compression without losing its quality and allows you to store all image data in a single file: properties, layers, channels, masks, filters, effects, text, vector elements, etc. The format was developed specifically for Photoshop and is usually used to store and transmit intermediate results when working with graphics, for example, website layouts or design projects. A PSD file is a raster image saved in the native format of Adobe Photoshop.
